Bee Mobile Physical Therapy San Diego, concussion, neck pain

While recovery from a concussion should occur naturally over the first few weeks following injury, some people experience persistent concussion symptoms lasting from multiple weeks to months or even longer. Typically, the cause of these persistent symptoms is not due to residual injury to the brain, but likely due to secondary impairments such as injury to cervical spine and vestibular system. Physical therapy evaluation following concussion includes neurocognitive testing, as well as a comprehensive evaluation of the cervical spine and vestibular system, with treatment aimed at normalizing mobility and function to allow for full safe return to sport or normal activities of daily living.
